ABOUT AIR3
ABOUT AIR3
Air3 Radio was established in 1972 at the University of Stirling as Scotland’s first student radio station. Originally, we were called ‘University Radio Airthrey’ or ‘URA’ (our studio being at Airthrey Castle on campus). In 2001, we rebranded to ‘Air3 1350’ while we were on the AM wave, and then in the early 2010s, we became Air3 Radio. We currently broadcast online only, with a wide range of programming that covers all listener demands; Music, podcasts, sport and news, all marketed for students and beyond.
Our programming offers both interviews and live sessions, and (for many years) we’ve been putting on live music events to reflect the talents of our members and the wider student body/Stirling community. We pride ourselves on being a strong creative outlet for students at UoS, no matter if their future lies in working in the media industry or not.
Air3 Radio is a member of the Student Radio Association. At the SRA’s 2024 Amplify Awards, we received the gold Amplify Award, which recognised our resilience and efforts in building up the station and our membership after a period of difficulty and radio silence.
Long Live Air3 Radio!
